"I shoot videos on events, this is a highly dynamic world where everything is either fast or faster. In places like this you often do not have the time to set up rails or complex tripod configurations and the freedom a handheld stabilizer gives is essential.
The stabilizer has to be light and easy to use too but also able to handle a professional camera, stabilizers that come with a complete vest are able to handle the more professional cameras but are a burden to put on and quickly switching between them and handheld is impossible.
The blackbird is able to carry my rather heavy and unbalanced PMW-EX1 Sony camera without a vest. I haven't been able to find any stabilizer that is able to do so at this price point and that is this simple to use. Even the systems double the price are struggling with the weight of my camera and are really too clunky and heavy to use without a vest. The blackbird is light, stable and is able to balance heavier professional cameras for less than half the price!"
